Stephen F. Been, CEO of Atlanta-based Legacy Communities LLC, is a major donor to the Frank Ski Kids Foundation, a nonprofit organization headed by a popular Atlanta media personality. The organization is designed to give underprivileged children experiences in science, the arts, and sports that they would not otherwise have. The foundation seeks to raise children’s self-esteem, increase their opportunities for self-expression and personal growth, and open doors to lifelong learning and career success.
Through the foundation, Stephen F. Been is proud to have contributed to many experiences for young people such as a visit to Atlanta’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change, educational trips to a rainforest and to the Galapagos Islands, and a journey to Huntsville, Alabama’s U.S. Space and Rocket Center for a week-long space camp.
The Frank Ski Kids Foundation recently hosted its annual Planet Green essay contest, a Youth Bowl Banquet, and a Local Legends scholarship luncheon honoring Atlanta-area female high school students who have made noteworthy contributions to their community.
