South Fulton Little League in Atlanta offers youths between the ages of 4 and 14 an opportunity to play baseball and have fun while learning the importance of teamwork, leadership, discipline, and the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. The program continues to grow and organizers expect to open the program to those up to 16 years of age. South Fulton Little League is an affiliate of Little League Baseball.
The objective of Little League Baseball is to help youth learn ideals such as honesty, sportsmanship, loyalty, and respect. Winning is secondary, but creation of trustworthy, healthy citizens is of primary importance.
Like all members of Little League Baseball, South Fulton Little League is a nonprofit organization. Although payment isn’t prohibited, personnel such as coaches, managers, and umpires are nearly always volunteers. The South Fulton Little League Board of Directors is comprised of members of the local community.
Stephen F. Been is a former youth athlete and continues to support organizations that benefit the youth of the Atlanta area. Mr. Been is a third generation home builder and CEO of Legacy Communities Real Estate Development and Construction. He is the recipient of a number of awards, and in 2009, was named Professional Builder Magazine’s Home Builder of the Year.
