Stephen “Steve” F. Been serves as the chief executive officer of Waterford Green, LLC, an investment firm that funds residential developments along the East Coast. Involved with giving back to his community, Stephen F. Been has supported the Frank Ski Kids Foundation (FSKF) and its Planet Green Eco-Experience initiative. This foundation, in the past has sponsored several programs for children in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
One initiative, the Excursion Program, provided accomplished students with the opportunity to participate in study abroad experiences. From Rome, Italy, to the Galapagos Islands, these young scholars have studied ecology, science, and art in locations around the world. Not only did the Excursion Program expose participants to other cultures, but it also aimed to direct them on a path toward future careers in their respective fields of interest.
FSKF’s Youth Bowl supported budding football players in leagues across Atlanta. In selecting participants for this program, the Bowl committee accepted the best eight 12-and-under teams in the area. Participants in this program foster key skills such as teamwork and leadership while working toward high school and college football programs. Annually, the Youth Bowl enabled the best teams to vie for prizes and grants worth $20,000. This money assists each team in the renovation of their football fields and the procurement of much-needed resources.
